Sony Reon Pocket Pro Plus: Cooler Wearable AC with 20% More Power
Sony Reon Pocket Pro Plus: 20% Cooler Wearable AC

Sony has unveiled the Reon Pocket Pro Plus, the latest iteration of its wearable air conditioner, boasting significant improvements in cooling performance and design. The new model delivers up to 20 per cent more cooling power than its predecessor, thanks to a refined cooling algorithm and a revamped thermal system. In Smart Cool mode, the cooling plate can reach temperatures 2C lower than before, promising a more intense cooling experience.

Enhanced Cooling and Neckband Design

The previous Reon Pocket Pro already felt like pressing an ice pack against the neck during hot weather, but Sony claims the new version will cool the entire body rather than just the upper back. The neckband has been redesigned with an adaptive hold feature, improving holding force by approximately 40 per cent. This ensures the device stays securely against the neck while walking, addressing the shifting issue of the older model that reduced effectiveness.

Improved Airflow and Sensor Tag

The airflow exhaust system has been overhauled, allowing users to adjust the angle and length of the vents. This makes the device compatible with high-collar clothing and improves heat dissipation. Sony also introduces the Reon Pocket Tag 2, an environmental sensor measuring temperature and humidity for automatic adjustments. It is 18 per cent smaller than the previous version and includes a carabiner for attaching to bags or belts.

Available now, the Sony Reon Pocket Pro Plus is priced at £199, matching the launch price of its predecessor. While still expensive for a wearable cooler, the new model aims to provide full-body cooling rather than just upper-body relief.
