The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is currently taking place in Vienna, Austria, with the second semi-final scheduled for tonight, Thursday 14 May. A total of 35 countries are participating this year, but host nation Austria and four of the "Big Five" -- the United Kingdom, Italy, France, and Germany -- have already secured their places in the grand final.
Spain, typically guaranteed a spot due to its broadcaster's significant financial contribution to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), withdrew from this year's contest in protest over Israel's participation. Additionally, broadcasters from Iceland, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Slovenia chose to pull out of Eurovision following the EBU's decision to allow Israel to compete.
Following the first semi-final on Tuesday 12 May, a further 15 countries -- including Norway, Australia, Armenia, and Denmark -- will compete for the remaining spots in Saturday's grand final. Fans will also enjoy performances from the United Kingdom's Look Mum No Computer, along with entries from France and host nation Austria.
