David Haye's Personal Life Dominates I'm A Celebrity Discussions
The topic of boxing icon David Haye's alleged involvement in a 'throuple' relationship has surfaced an astonishing eleven times during the current series of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa. This persistent referencing occurs despite the former world champion's firm stance against discussing his private affairs on the popular ITV programme.
Producers Push for Candid Conversations
According to sources close to the production, showrunners were extremely keen for David to speak openly about his relationships. "Producers were desperate to have David speaking candidly about his relationships," an insider revealed. "However, he decided he did not want to talk about his private life." Consequently, producers have ensured that presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly mention the topic periodically throughout the series.
Geordie hosts Ant and Dec have alluded to Haye's past relationship on five separate occasions. Meanwhile, fellow campmates, including reality star Gemma Collins and actor Adam Thomas, have raised the subject six times between them.
Camp Tensions and Gossip Sessions
The speculation intensified following a heated exchange between David Haye and Gemma Collins. The disagreement erupted during a Bushtucker Trial where Gemma, while consuming blended ant eggs, requested water. David interjected, insisting she should not be permitted a drink until the challenge was completed.
This comment did not sit well with Gemma, who later branded David "evil" to her campmates. Seizing the moment, she then steered the conversation towards rumours of his involvement in 'throuples'. "Do you think all that throuple stuff is true?" she probed Adam Thomas. A stunned Thomas responded, "What, him and two girls? You're lying!" while Gemma confidently asserted, "Honey, it's everywhere in the press! He's in a permanent throuple, the geezer."
Background of the Rumoured Relationships
David Haye has been in a relationship with Sian Osborne since 2020. The pair have been consistently linked to a three-way romance, or 'throuple', initially with Saturdays singer Una Healy in 2023, which she denied. They were also rumoured to be involved with actress Helen Flanagan, who similarly refuted the claims but admitted she "fell in love" with the boxer.
In a 2023 exclusive interview, Mica Jova, a friend described as part of the 'throuple', criticised Una Healy for attempting to cast David and Sian in a negative light. "David is one of the most gorgeous souls out there and Sian is a sweetheart," Jova stated. "They are such good people so I really don't understand why Una Healy is trying to put a bad light on those two."
The All-Star Line-Up
David Haye, aged 45, is participating in the second series of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, having originally appeared in 2012 where he placed third. He is joined by a roster of returning celebrities vying for the title of 'Legend of the Jungle'. Notable campmates include Gemma Collins, Ashley Roberts, Sir Mo Farah, Sinitta, and Harry Redknapp, among others.
Despite the ongoing chatter and producer prompts, David Haye maintains his silence on the matter, focusing instead on the challenges of the jungle. The repeated mentions highlight the relentless interest in his personal life, contrasting sharply with his desire for privacy during the competition.
