Katie Price Defends Husband's PhD Amid Scam Allegations on GMB

Katie Price has firmly insisted that her husband, Lee Andrews, does indeed hold a PhD from a Spanish university, as she backpedaled on earlier claims linking it to Cambridge University. The former glamour model appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss her new marriage with hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, following a whirlwind romance that led to their wedding in Dubai in January.

Scam Allegations and Cambridge Debunking

Since announcing their marriage, Lee Andrews has faced accusations of being a scammer, with boasts about his life including being a millionaire businessman with a PhD from Cambridge University and connections to Elon Musk. Last week, he made further claims on Instagram about becoming a future trillionaire, detailing a mysterious income and membership in the 1%.

Katie previously defended him, telling The Sun that she had seen proof of his university degree and PhD, describing paperwork with wax stamps and watermarks that she believed were authentic. However, Cambridge University debunked the claims, stating they could not find a record of Lee being registered as a student in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

GMB Interview and Spanish PhD Claims

On Good Morning Britain, Katie, 47, clarified that Lee's PhD is from a Spanish institution, not Cambridge. When Ed Balls noted that Lee's passport lists him as a doctor and reports claimed a Cambridge PhD, Katie responded, He doesn't have a PhD from Cambridge, it's one in Spain. I've seen everything I need to see, on his diplomatic passport, it's Doctor Lee Andrews.

She emphasized that she had reviewed the documents thoroughly and found them legitimate, adding, Everything he's shown me is so legit, I'm not stupid. They're not copies, they're originals.

Criticism and Personal Defense

During the interview, Katie hit back at disrespectful critics who expressed concern over her quick marriage. Susanna Reid admitted she would be worried if Katie were a friend, questioning the whirlwind nature of the relationship. Katie defended her decision, stating, I've gone through so much, so many different relationships... Now, I know the signs of red flags. I am older, I can make my own decisions.

She explained that this relationship feels different from past ones, which she described as toxic and abusive, and expressed happiness with Lee.

Voice Notes and Financial Allegations

The interview comes amid reports that Lee Andrews was heard begging a woman for cash in desperate voice notes just a week before proposing to Katie. A US-based businesswoman, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed she received multiple voice notes from Lee requesting money ranging from £1,100 to £2,500 since last May for a business opportunity.

In the notes, Lee reportedly said, If you can help me or send Western Union 3000 that would help me so much. You don't know how desperate it's been. He claimed to be cash-strapped, living off 20 pence ready meals while waiting for payments from his business, Aura Sustainable Vehicles & Energy BVI, to clear from Kenya.

When the woman refused, Lee allegedly swore at her and called her a time waster. She described him as so persuasive that she nearly sent money, adding that he told her in December he had met someone special, believed to be Katie.

Ex-Partner Accusations and Tinder Swindler Comparisons

Lee's ex-partner, Alana Percival, 32, has accused him of scamming women out of cash, likening him to the Tinder Swindler from the Netflix show. Alana claimed that four women contacted her in the past two weeks, alleging Lee tried to scam them, with voice recordings as evidence.

She posted on Instagram, Self claimed multimillionaire or billionaire my f***ing a**e. Begging women around the world for £3000 this was only in January! He actually is another tinder swindler, so embarrassing. Alana also noted that Lee had proposed to her in a lavish manner similar to his proposal to Katie.

Lee has denied all previous claims, and The Daily Mail has reached out for comment. The controversy continues as Katie Price stands by her husband amidst ongoing allegations and public scrutiny.
