In the Conan interview, O'Brien attempted to understand the encounter better, asking Kendrick to "paint the scene" of Perry approaching her. The actress explained she had met Perry before and described the singer's behavior as characteristic, saying, "Yeah, you know, she's aggressive, I like it."

Perry's representatives have issued a strong denial of Ruby Rose's allegations, calling them "categorically false" and "dangerous, reckless lies" in a statement to the Daily Mail. Rose shared her allegations on Threads, writing: "Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. I was only in my early 20s. I'm now 40. It has taken almost two decades to say this publicly."
