Megan Thee Stallion Sets Broadway Return After Health Scare

Megan Thee Stallion will return to the Broadway stage on Thursday after being hospitalised during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The rapper, 31, became ill during Tuesday's show and was rushed to hospital, with doctors diagnosing extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels.

A spokesperson confirmed she was discharged and is now resting. She will miss Wednesday's matinee and evening performances to recover, with understudy Patrick Clanton taking over her role as Harold Zidler. Megan is expected to resume the part on Thursday.

In an Instagram post, the artist said the incident was a “real wake-up call”. She wrote: “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage.” She added that she needs “one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself”.

Tuesday's show began normally but was stopped midway. Megan was replaced by her understudy for the remainder. The Grammy-winning rapper made her Broadway debut last week at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, becoming the first woman to play Zidler. Her limited run concludes on 17 May, while the musical itself closes on 26 July after seven years.
