Musk, Cook Join Trump on China Trip for Trade Deals

President Donald Trump is being accompanied on his key trip to China by an entourage of billionaires, with a combined net worth exceeding $1 trillion, according to Forbes. The group includes tech and finance titans such as Elon Musk, Tim Cook, and Larry Fink, who are joining Trump for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Musk posted from Air Force One on Wednesday that he was en route to Beijing and was pictured greeting dignitaries on the red carpet upon landing. Trump confirmed the attendees in a Truth Social post, referring to Cook as “Tim Apple” and listing Jensen Huang, Stephen Schwarzman, Kelly Ortberg, Brian Sikes, Jane Fraser, Larry Culp, David Solomon, Sanjay Mehrotra, and Cristiano Amon among others.

Trump wrote that he would ask President Xi to “open up” China so that these business leaders could “work their magic” and help bring China to an even higher level. He described the idea as the most beneficial for both countries.

According to Forbes, the group’s combined net worth is $870 billion excluding Huang, but including his $190.6 billion, the total soars to over $1.06 trillion. Musk alone is worth an estimated $819 billion, while Cook has a net worth of $2.9 billion.

Huang, CEO of Nvidia, was welcomed onto Air Force One late on Tuesday after Trump reportedly called him that morning to extend an invitation, following reports that he was not coming. Other executives from Boeing, Cargill, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, Mastercard, Meta, and Visa are also on the trip, along with Hollywood director Brett Ratner, who is scouting locations for the fourth Rush Hour film.
