Escaping a Traumatic Stalker Ordeal

This relaxing getaway comes after a highly stressful period for Myleene, who endured a year of sheer terror due to a stalker. The ordeal involved a man named Peter Windsor, who targeted her while she worked at Classic FM. Windsor sent her an air pistol and other disturbing items so traumatic that police refused to disclose their full nature, leaving Myleene feeling 'censored from her own life.'

In an interview with The Telegraph, Myleene expressed confusion and fear, questioning what could be more disturbing than an air pistol. This led her to fortify her home for safety, turning it into what she described as a version of Fort Knox, as she feared for her family's wellbeing.

The Stalking Case Details

Peter Windsor, 61, was found guilty of two counts of stalking involving serious harm and distress after a seven-day jury trial at Warwick Crown Court. He received an indefinite hospital order. Over four years, he stalked both Myleene and her colleague Katie Breathwick, sending items like handcuffs, a Catwoman outfit, and unhinged letters with sexual and Satanic imagery, along with around 1,000 gifts.

Initially, Myleene was unaware of the threat, having missed emails from Breathwick about the stalking and learning later that security had discarded many of Windsor's letters and packages. It was only in August 2024 that she was made aware when security emailed her a list of 12 items sent by Windsor, with a note downplaying the concern.

By that point, she was receiving up to four items daily from Windsor, who had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and had no prior convictions. Myleene described the revelation as a 'huge shock' and a 'violation,' stating it felt like 'sheer terror' that was extreme on every front.

Legal Proceedings and Aftermath

During the trial, police revealed that the intercepted air pistol could be fatal if fired from up to six feet away. Windsor also sent a silver ring described as 'holy protection for a worthy high priestess.' Myleene took the stand and felt compelled to prove she did not desire these items or the attention, facing questioning from the defence barrister who suggested she was partly to blame and sought publicity.

Myleene countered by pointing out her recent MBE award, emphasizing that the last thing she needed associated with her name was 'whips, handcuffs and guns.' Although Windsor has been convicted, Myleene told ITV News that the ordeal has left a lasting impact, leaving her 'looking over her shoulder' and affecting her sense of security.

This birthday getaway serves as a much-needed respite from those harrowing experiences, allowing her to focus on family and fun in a serene mountain setting.
