Russia has issued a direct threat to strike targets across the UK, alleging that these locations are production facilities supplying military equipment to Ukraine. The Russian defence ministry named three addresses in London, Leicester, and Suffolk, among other European sites, as potential targets.
Senior Kremlin official Dmitry Medvedev warned on social media that the threat should be “taken literally,” stating that the list of European facilities making drones and other equipment are potential targets for Russian armed forces. He added that when strikes become a reality depends on what comes next.
In response to the heightened tensions, experts have compiled a list of the 19 safest places in the UK in the event of a major conflict. These locations are chosen for being away from major army and naval bases and heavily populated cities, reducing the risk of being targeted.
The list of safest places includes remote areas and smaller towns across the country, though specific names were not detailed in the source. The Daily Express reported in February that these areas are considered the best places to be if World War 3 starts.
