Sienna Miller showcased the physical toll of her role in the new thriller 'Jack Ryan: Ghost War' with a candid Instagram post on Wednesday, revealing nasty bruises on her arms. The 44-year-old actress returned to work just three weeks after giving birth to her second child with partner Oli Green to promote the film, which serves as a follow-up to the television series.
Behind-the-Scenes Glimpses
To celebrate the release of 'Jack Ryan: Ghost War' on Prime Video, Miller shared a collection of behind-the-scenes photos and videos. One image highlighted the bruises she sustained during filming, while a video captured her fumbling with a prop gun as the magazine dropped. She captioned the post: 'Do an action movie, they said…it’ll be fun, they said…I love these people dearly. Jack Ryan is out now on @primevideo.'
How She Landed the Role
Miller also posted a beaming selfie from a dinner with co-star John Krasinski, after revealing the lengths she went to in order to secure the part. During an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' she explained that she is close friends with Krasinski's wife, Emily Blunt. 'Emily Blunt - I'm going to name drop her - is one of my best friends,' she said. 'And [her husband] John Krasinski for her 40th birthday took 10 of us to an island... We had several cocktails and I was having a moan about being in independent films that seven people see. I just need to do an action film. And John and Emily looked at each other and were like, 'Yes, Jack Ryan.' I literally threw myself at [Krasinski] to get this part. And then he wrote it for me and it was very sweet.'
Returning to Work After Childbirth
Miller also opened up about returning to work just three weeks after giving birth, admitting she is surviving on 'very little sleep.' She shared that the transition has been challenging, especially a nightmare transatlantic flight with her toddler and newborn. 'It feels like stringing sentences together is a bit challenging. I'm on very little sleep but I'm madly in love with my baby,' she said. 'It's crazy to be talking words and wearing a dress. What has happened from pajama gate.'
Family Life
The British actress is already mother to daughter Marlowe, 13, with ex-fiancé Tom Sturridge, and shares a two-year-old daughter with Oli Green. She announced her third pregnancy at the Fashion Awards in December, following a previous pregnancy reveal at the Vogue World Show in September 2023. Speaking about her younger partner, Miller told Harper's Bazaar: 'I didn't expect to take it seriously and then quite quickly, I fell in love... There is a difference in the way that generation of men respect women. It's specific to him, he is very wise and well-adjusted, but I do believe it's also that generation.'
