Organised crime gangs are exploiting Britain's immigration system by offering fraudulent care worker positions to vulnerable migrants, according to a shocking new investigation.
The £15,000 Visa Scam
Criminal networks are charging desperate individuals up to £15,000 for fake care job placements that allow them to obtain UK work visas. The Home Office has identified numerous cases where migrants' details were used without their knowledge to sponsor non-existent care roles.
How the Scheme Operates
The sophisticated operation works in three stages:
- Gangs advertise non-existent care positions overseas
- Charge migrants exorbitant fees for visa sponsorship
- Use the victims' identities to create fake employment records
One whistleblower revealed: "They're preying on people's dreams of a better life. Many arrive to discover their 'job' doesn't exist."
Government Response
The Home Office has suspended 1,234 sponsorship licences this year alone. A spokesperson stated: "We're working closely with law enforcement to dismantle these criminal networks."
Experts warn the scam undermines genuine care providers struggling with staff shortages. The UK care sector currently has over 150,000 vacancies.
