Dan and Lacy appear to be just like any other modern couple, but behind closed doors, their kinky bedroom habit sets them apart. The pair met on a swingers dating site and, despite being in a happy and loving relationship, they enjoy having sex with other people.
Opening Up About Their Lifestyle
The couple has now lifted the lid on the salacious details of their lifestyle, from the unexpected high-end individuals they have encountered at swinging parties to the strict rules they follow to avoid jealousy. Lacy, from Nashville, Tennessee, explained that they love being so open about it because they want to shatter the negative stigma often associated with swinging.
'I think a lot of people believe the word swinger just means people that don't like their spouse or want to cheat, and they just want to have sex with other people,' she said. 'I think the general consensus is that swingers can't keep it in their pants.'
How They Met
The couple, who tied the knot in 2020, said swinging was always non-negotiable for them and something they were on the same page about from the start. They met on a dating site designed for swingers. 'I messaged him because I thought he was cute, and we just started chatting, and met up that same night,' Lacy recounted. While it was initially supposed to be a 'fun hookup,' they quickly formed a strong bond.
'We ended up six months later deciding to be in a relationship together, which led to a marriage, and now here we are,' Lacy explained. But she admitted it took some trial and error at the beginning to navigate the lifestyle alongside their newfound love.
Navigating Jealousy and Rules
Lacy, who was previously married and has a child from that relationship, struggled at first with the dichotomy of wanting to swing while falling for Dan. 'I knew that him having sex or relationships with other people did not take away from our relationship, but it was complicated because I was falling in love with him,' she said. 'There definitely were some ups and downs, but eventually we just kind of fell into a good rhythm where we made it work.'
The pair set boundaries to ensure their relationship stayed strong. 'We decided we would only play or engage with others when we were together,' Lacy explained. Another rule was chatting with potential partners only in a group chat so both could see what was being said. 'We kind of adapted our rules to work in a place where we're both comfortable,' Dan said. Lacy added, 'And the longer we got to know each other and the more we built a foundation, the trust naturally came.'
Unexpected Attendees at Parties
The couple claimed they have met some very high-up individuals at swingers parties, including senators. 'We've met lots of preachers, teachers, nurses, lots of military cops, a lot of doctors, honestly, it's everybody,' Dan said. Lacy agreed, declaring you can 'still be an upstanding citizen and still like naughty sex behind closed doors.'
'I think people think that swingers are the bottom of the barrel people, and the truth is that more than likely a swinger has taught your child at school, or a swinger has treated you when you went to the hospital,' she added. 'These people are upstanding citizens in their community, but they also like letting their freak flag fly.'
Destigmatizing Swinging
The couple have over 103,000 followers on Instagram and often speak about their lifestyle on their podcast The Swing Nation. They hope to destigmatize the topic. 'I definitely think swingers or being non-monogamous is a lot different than a lot of people think,' Lacy said. 'There is a huge stigma around it, when in fact it's couples that love each other and do this together for fun.'
'I think a lot of people feel like at swinger parties everybody has sex with everybody, but that is not the case,' she declared. 'You ask permission before you even touch someone's leg. There are a lot of boundaries and things that we put in place so that everyone is protected and cared for.'
As for why they do it, she said it keeps them young, while Dan added it is not all about sex but rather forming genuine connections with people. 'For us, sex is only a small part,' he explained. 'Most of the time you're just hanging out with cool people and having fun and dancing and connecting and being free and running around naked and joking and drinking.'
