Tuchel Names Four Wonderkids in England World Cup Squad Preparations
Tuchel Adds Four Youngsters to England World Cup Prep Squad

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed his 26-man England squad for the World Cup, with some players facing delayed arrivals due to their involvement in European club finals. Four young players – Alex Scott, Josh King, Rio Ngumoha, and Ethan Nwaneri – have been called up to join the squad for warm-up friendlies, while Brighton’s Jason Steele will be with the squad as a training goalkeeper.

These additions are intended to ensure a full squad for training and matches, allowing for careful management of key players' minutes ahead of the tournament. England will travel to Florida for two warm-up friendlies against New Zealand on 6 June and Costa Rica on 10 June. The squad will then move to their tournament base in Kansas City on 13 June, with their World Cup campaign commencing on 17 June against Croatia.

Tuchel explained that the inclusion of the young talents is part of a strategy to expose them to the senior setup while ensuring the main squad remains fresh. The four wonderkids, all highly rated in English football, will train with the senior team and could feature in the friendlies.
