Epstein Accuser Sues Fellow Victim for Defamation Over Tweets

A woman who accused Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse has filed a defamation lawsuit against another Epstein accuser, Virginia Giuffre, citing a series of tweets from October 2020. Rina Oh, 41, lodged the suit in Manhattan federal court on Thursday, seeking $20 million in damages.

Oh claims that Giuffre's tweets falsely portrayed her as Epstein's girlfriend and a recruiter of girls for abuse, rather than a victim. One tweet cited in the lawsuit read: 'Rina - if you read this I hope you live in shame for the rest of your life.' Another suggested Oh should be imprisoned alongside Ghislaine Maxwell.

The lawsuit asserts that Giuffre's statements are untrue and have caused Oh 'great harm,' including humiliation, mental anguish, and emotional distress. Oh maintains that authorities, including the FBI, have recognised her as a victim of Epstein, not a co-conspirator.

Giuffre, 38, has publicly claimed she was sexually abused by Epstein and Maxwell and coerced into encounters with Prince Andrew. She recently sued the prince. Her lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The Associated Press typically does not identify alleged sexual abuse victims unless they speak publicly, as both Oh and Giuffre have done.
