Clarkson's Farm Star Hints Return After Quitting Nursing

Harriet Cowan, a standout figure from the hit Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm, has hinted at a potential return to the show after stepping away from her nursing career. The 25-year-old, who temporarily replaced Kaleb Cooper in the fourth series, impressed Jeremy Clarkson with her agricultural expertise, having grown up on a family farm in Derbyshire.

Rising Fame and Career Shift

Since her television debut, Harriet has experienced a surge in popularity, becoming a social media sensation and securing multiple television projects. According to The Sun, she has resigned from her nursing position to focus on these new media opportunities. Speaking on the Fed by Farmers podcast, Harriet addressed the possibility of returning to Clarkson's Farm, stating, "I'm not allowed to say, you'll have to see. It's top secret."

Challenges of Recognition

Harriet also explained her decision to leave nursing, citing the difficulty of being recognised during her duties. She shared, "I've given up nursing because I was going into people's houses and I was getting recognised as that girl off the telly, and I was supposed to be there as a professional nurse – there were people dying at the end of the day." She further noted that balancing social media, nursing, farming, and brand deals became overwhelming, despite not needing the nursing income. "I was working all week and I'd be earning 34k a year but I just did not need that," she remarked, adding that she could earn more through social media. Harriet described her career shift as fulfilling a lifelong dream: "How many other people can say they can give that up at 24, to give up your job and go into full time farming which is all I've ever wanted to do?"

Brand Deals and Future Projects

In the same conversation, Harriet discussed her brand partnerships, naming retailer Aldi as her most significant collaboration to date. Her growing influence has led to multiple television opportunities, though she remains coy about specific details.

Standing Up to Jeremy Clarkson

Harriet recently took a playful jab at Jeremy Clarkson, 66, while defending her assertive nature on the show. Speaking to The Times, she said, "If a bloke thinks he knows better than me and starts talking s***, I'll tell him so." She emphasised that her confrontations with Clarkson were genuine, adding, "When I was on Clarkson's Farm telling Jeremy what I thought, that was the real me. It wasn't put on for the cameras."

Challenging Stereotypes

Harriet, who also has a nursing background, hopes her role on the show will help challenge stereotypes about farmers. She told BBC News, "I think when you talk to somebody and ask what they stereotypically think of when someone says farmer, they say '60-year-old man with a checked shirt and a beer belly', and a lot of the time that is it, but us women are out here as farmers too." She added, "Just because I'm a small, blonde that likes to curl her hair and wear make-up, it doesn't mean I can't be a farmer."
