Coronation Street spoilers suggest that one resident might be allowing Summer Spellman to take the fall for Theo Silverton's murder. While Summer is a suspect and acting suspiciously, another character uses this to their advantage next week.
Christina Boyd Pushes Guilt Theory
Spoilers confirm that a character will inform on Summer to the police after a flashback reveals something that happened the night Theo was killed. Another character urges this person to go to the police and pushes the agenda that Summer is guilty, all to cover their own tracks.
Summer is in trouble after detective Kit Green finds evidence that could implicate her in the crime. George Shuttleworth and Christina Boyd also accuse Summer of killing Theo after finding disturbing entries about him in her journal. George quizzes Summer about Theo's death, and a flashback reveals what he saw that night.
Christina's Secret
All evidence points to Summer being guilty, but George is unsure what he saw, and the journal has left him unnerved. Summer is clearly hiding something, but it is Christina who pushes the theory that Summer is guilty. Not only does she tell George he should inform the police about everything he knows, but she also comments that it is only a matter of time before Summer is questioned.
Christina has a secret of her own. While it is not revealed what it is, it is clear she does not want the truth coming out. She is caught out by the police for lying about something that happened that night. In retaliation, a panicked Christina tells George he needs to tell detective Lisa Swain what he saw and about Summer. This is simply her trying to cover up her own lie, raising the question: could she be setting Summer up for a crime she did not commit?
Is Christina the Killer?
Is Christina willing to let Summer take the fall just to keep her own secret, and might it even tease that Christina killed Theo? There is obviously much more to be revealed, but it seems Christina is out to get Summer to save her own skin.
Summer protests to both George and the detectives that she did not kill Theo. But what did George see, and what really happened during Summer and Theo's showdown the night he died? She was the last character shown with him onscreen before his body was found. Something must have happened, with plenty of blanks needing to be filled in.
