In emotional scenes on Coronation Street, Daniel Osbourne struggled to cope following his wife Sinead's terminal cancer diagnosis. Sinead, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2018, recently learned that the cancer had returned and spread to her lymph nodes and liver, leaving her with only months to live.
As Sinead planned her final days with her auntie Beth, Daniel turned to alcohol to numb his pain. His grief led him to lash out at fellow residents, shouting abuse at Bethany Platt and taking a swing at Michael Bailey, who was trying to help him.
Later, Daniel collapsed into the arms of his nephew Adam Barlow at a bus stop, tearfully admitting he didn't know what to do. Adam comforted him as he broke down, in a scene that resonated deeply with viewers.
Fans took to Twitter to express their heartache, with many praising the actors' performances. One viewer wrote: 'That was just what Daniel needed; a hug! Adam can be lovely sometimes.' Another commented: 'Daniel is superb as the grieving future widower. Such raw emotion from someone so young and inexperienced.'
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
