Gabby Logan's Daughter Horrified by Cheating Confession

Gabby Logan has disclosed that her daughter was left 'horrified' by a personal confession made in her 2022 memoir, The First Half. The BBC broadcaster admitted to having an affair with a German tennis player while still in a relationship with a university boyfriend.

Honesty About Past Mistakes

The 53-year-old presenter explained that she chose to be candid about her infidelity, believing it was important for her children to understand that people can make errors and recover from them. Speaking about her daughter Lois's reaction, Gabby said: 'She was horrified. I cheated on a boyfriend and she said, 'I can't believe you did that'. I said, 'It's really important that you know I've made mistakes because you can come back from those things'.'

Family Reactions

Gabby's husband, Kenny Logan, also expressed surprise at her admission during an appearance on her Mid Point podcast. He told her: 'That was a bit of a shock. It was a shock to the kids, too!' The couple, who met at a bar in 1999, married in 2001 and welcomed twins Lois and Reuben, now 20, four years later.

Reflecting on their relationship on HELLO!'s Second Act Podcast with Ateh Jewel, Gabby said: 'We're each other's biggest fans. He's never begrudged any career success I've had. He's always really encouraged me and that's been wonderful.'

Support Through Challenges

The Logans have supported each other through difficult times, including Kenny's battle with prostate cancer and the death of Gabby's father, Terry Yorath. The legendary Welsh footballer died in January at age 75 after a brief illness. The news emerged hours after Gabby unexpectedly left Match of the Day live on air, with replacement host Mark Chapman citing a family emergency.

In a statement, Gabby honoured her father as a 'kind-hearted and generous man' with a 'wicked sense of humour'.

Kenny's Cancer Diagnosis

Kenny, 54, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022 during a routine health screening, despite having no symptoms. He underwent surgery and is now in remission. The father-of-two has since campaigned for greater awareness of PSA testing and early diagnosis, with Gabby's support.

Speaking to Chris Evans on Virgin Radio, Gabby explained: 'He had no symptoms. So it was purely going to have those hormone tests. Ultimately, he had his prostate removed, because that was decided the best course of treatment for him. Because he caught it so early, it hadn't spread anywhere. And that's the danger with prostate cancer, is that if you wait too long and you have symptoms, it may go to other parts of the body. So he was incredibly lucky.'
