Gilgo Beach Killer's 'Kill Blueprint' Revealed: Notes on 'Play Time' and Timing
Gilgo Beach Killer's Chilling 'Kill Blueprint' Exposed

The Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann's chilling blueprint for murder has been revealed for the first time, detailing a meticulously planned four-day 'kill plan' that involved luring victims to his family home in Massapequa Park, Long Island, while his family was on vacation. He then spent days torturing, killing, 'playing' with their dead bodies, disposing of them, and cleaning up the home.

Heuermann was so methodical that he timed to the second how long it took to dump victims' bodies at Gilgo Beach and took notes to improve his process. One particularly disturbing entry urged him to be less noisy while killing to allow more 'PLAY TIME.'

Therapist Reveals Chilling Details

Heuermann came face-to-face with Long Island therapist Alison T Winter in the Peacock documentary The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets, released this week. During their sessions, Heuermann revealed chilling details about his sadistic crimes and double life.

'He was so meticulous, detail oriented, pathological, control, dominance. He had to beat himself at his own game,' Winter said. 'Clearly, he enjoyed killing, and it became a sickness for him. It became an outlet. It became an obsession.'

The Four-Day Kill Plan

Winter described Heuermann's four-day routine: Day one was 'the prep' where he cleaned the basement and prepared for his time with the victim. Day two was 'time with the victim,' which he found 'very enjoyable' until the murder, followed by postmortem 'playtime' and the dump that night. Day three was 'clean up' of all tools, tarps, and clothes. Day four was set aside for 'emergencies.'

'It's a four-day high, a four-day adrenaline rush and then he'd fly out to his family,' Winter said.

Stopwatch and Notes

Winter spoke of a stopwatch Heuermann used to time how fast he could dump bodies. 'He went from his first kill - two minutes and 32 seconds - to his last at Gilgo which was just 37 seconds.'

In June 2024, prosecutors found a 'planning document' on a hard drive in his home. The document included sections on 'BODY PREP' (remove head and hands, wash cavities), 'THINGS TO REMEMBER' (sleep before hunt, use thick rope, limit noise for more 'PLAY TIME'), and 'POST EVENT' (change tires, burn gloves, dispose of pics, have story set).

Plea and Sentencing

Heuermann pleaded guilty on April 8 to murdering eight sex workers between 1993 and 2010. He admitted to strangling all victims and dismembering some. He will be sentenced to life in prison on June 17.
