Gogglebox star Shaun Malone has confirmed his relationship status after being grilled by his mother Julie on the Channel 4 show. In a clip shared on Instagram, captioned "If it feels like an interrogation… it is", the armchair critic was seen staring at the television while Julie quizzed him about his love life.
Mother's interrogation
Julie began by asking, "Are you dating anyone, Shaun?" to which he replied, "No." She then rephrased the question, asking, "Are you seeing anyone?" but Shaun again answered in the negative. Not giving up, Julie inquired, "Are you hooking up with anyone?" and again received a "No." Finally, she asked, "Are you talking to anyone?" but Shaun said no to that too.
"You wouldn't tell us if you was, would you?" Julie pressed, and Shaun confessed that he wouldn't. The exchange amused fans, with many posting crying with laughter emojis in the comments. One person commented, "Every kid EVER," while another said, "Ahahaha your mum's great and love you Shaun." A third fan added, "Love this family so much," and another agreed, "I like the Malones." One fan teased, "There’s no way he’s going to tell you…" while another joked, "He can have my number." Someone else quipped, "I was just thinking that, he's GORG."
Shaun's family and past
It is not known whether Shaun is currently dating anyone, but in 2020 he welcomed a son named Louis with his then partner Jade. He shared the news on Instagram, saying he was "super happy" and "couldn't be more proud" of Jade. The Malones have been on Gogglebox for 12 years, debuting in the fourth series. The original lineup included Julie, Shaun, dad Tom Sr, and brother Tom Jr. In 2021, Tom Jr left the show to pursue other interests, and sister Vanessa Malone has also since appeared. Gogglebox airs on Channel 4.
