Jamie Vardy has shared a heartfelt message to his wife Rebekah as she opened up about the true emotional toll of their family's relocation to Italy. The couple's move abroad is documented in the upcoming ITV series The Vardys, which premieres on Tuesday, June 2.

In the three-part documentary, Rebekah admits that 'nobody had prepared me' for the scale of the undertaking. The family moved to Italy after Jamie ended his 13-year stint with Leicester City. While it has now been confirmed that they are returning to the UK, the series captures the intense process of transplanting their lives abroad.
'The biggest challenge was trying to balance the excitement of a completely new adventure with the emotional reality of leaving behind a life we'd built over more than a decade,' Rebekah told ITV. 'Leicester was home for us in every sense—our friends, routines, schools, memories—so uprooting wasn't just about packing boxes and moving country, it was about starting again emotionally.'

Jamie expressed his admiration for Rebekah, saying: 'She really worked hard to move our family over, I am so proud of her. That whole move was very intense, but she still did it like she always does. Putting our family first no matter how tough it gets. The best of all my wife Rebekah and I, we did it as a team as always (well, with me just playing football) and that's how we coped with it all.'
Behind the Scenes of the Move
The documentary promises 'frantic house-hunts, tearful school searches, unexpected disasters and dramatic setbacks, all while Jamie battles to prove his doubters wrong on the pitch.' It also touches on the infamous Wagatha Christie trial that involved Rebekah in a legal dispute with Coleen Rooney. One notable challenge was relocating a grand piano from Leicester to their new home by Lake Garda to help their 12-year-old daughter Sofia settle in.
The Vardys airs at 9pm on June 2 on ITV1 and ITVX.
