Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has swapped acting for farming, sharing his family's new life on ITV's 'Fletcher's Family Farm'. The 39-year-old and his wife Liz Marsland took on a 120-acre holding in the Peak District two years ago, and now have 100 sheep, 30 pigs, 10 horses, six chickens, a cat, and a dog, plus four children under seven.
The couple described the transition as a 'rollercoaster ride'. In August, they said: 'Navigating farming life with four small kids is certainly a challenge but one full of laughter and unforgettable memories.' Their new series airs on Sunday, October 15.
Kelvin and Liz first met at age eight but reunited in 2009 and married in 2015. Kelvin told HELLO! Magazine: 'I knew I wanted to marry Liz the day I met her.' However, their relationship faced early struggles, including a split in 2010 after Kelvin received explicit messages from fans.
A source said Liz was 'jealous of the attention Kelvin receives'. Kelvin admitted she found it hard watching him kiss co-stars on Emmerdale, saying: 'Liz won't watch the show because she gets too jealous. To me, though, it's just work.' He added that she had since 'got used to it'.
Now, the couple appear happier than ever as they learn to run a farm together. 'Fletcher's Family Farm' airs on ITV1 at 11.30am on October 15.
