Kim Zolciak's Boyfriend Denies Overspending Claims Amid Divorce Battle
Kim Zolciak's Boyfriend Denies Overspending Claims

Kim Zolciak's boyfriend has strenuously denied his estranged wife's claims that he has been overspending on the former Real Housewife of Atlanta. Zolciak, 48, began dating real estate developer Kyle Mowitz in spring last year, amid her increasingly rancorous split from former NFL player Kroy Biermann.

Divorce Battle Escalates

Mowitz is locked in his own divorce battle with his ex Jillian Greene, who believes he has over $100 million held in a trust. Greene filed an injunction to stop what she described as his 'out of control' spending, fearing his fortune will be depleted before she receives her share. Mowitz has responded with court documents, firmly denying her accusations that he has been showering money on Zolciak, according to TMZ. He turned around and accused Greene of accumulating debt on credit cards he funds, including an extravagant $2,300 hotel room charge.

Mowitz disputed Greene's contention that his 'spending is out of control and that he fails to pay the expenses for his family and children.' In his court documents, he stated it was 'plainly false to say that Mowitz uses his money primarily to pay for his own lifestyle and his girlfriend's lifestyle.'

Greene's Allegations

When Greene filed her injunction earlier this month, she insisted there was 'every reason to believe the millions of dollars' Mowitz stood to earn from his business 'will disappear quickly' due to his supposed generosity to Zolciak. According to Greene, his munificence to his 'potential future wife' included covering her rent and legal fees, providing a pricey car, bankrolling travel and wine expenses, and giving her loans. Greene even subpoenaed Zolciak in the divorce case late last year, demanding a deposition and information including communications with Mowitz.

Zolciak's Custody Ruling

Earlier this month, Zolciak temporarily lost primary physical custody of her four children with ex-husband Biermann after a judge granted Biermann's emergency request. Court documents show Biermann alleged Zolciak was 'unstable and unfit.' Despite the decision, the former couple will continue to share joint legal custody, meaning both retain formal decision-making rights. However, Biermann was awarded final authority over major issues including education, non-emergency medical care, and religious upbringing. The children will split time between households on alternating weekends.

Zolciak responded to the ruling in a statement, calling it temporary until a full hearing. She criticized the investigation by a guardian ad litem who had not spoken to her in over a year. Biermann's filing accused Zolciak of neglect and prioritizing her public image over the children's welfare. He alleged she was 'more selfishly concerned with her own image and her work options' and described her as 'unstable and unfit.'

Background of the Couple

In addition to her children with Biermann, Zolciak has daughters Brielle, 29, and Ariana, 24, from previous relationships. Biermann adopted them after marrying Zolciak in 2011. The former couple has been separated since May 2023, with their divorce battle beginning in August 2023. Biermann claimed Zolciak traveled extensively and failed to parent on agreed dates, missing therapy sessions and lying to therapists. He asked the court to award him sole custody, alleging she entered the temporary parenting plan in bad faith.

Zolciak refuted the claims, stating, 'These accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character. I spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support my family and make sure my children are cared for – something I will never apologize for.'
