A sex worker has come forward with claims that New South Wales independent MP Mark Latham and his former girlfriend, Nathalie Matthews, contacted her earlier this year for a threesome that never materialised. The allegations add to the controversy surrounding Latham, who has denied claims of abuse made by Ms Matthews.
Carly Electric, a sex worker, told the Daily Telegraph that Ms Matthews initially messaged her about a shared interest in horse racing, followed by Latham reaching out separately. Ms Electric said she felt 'love bombed' by the pair, who complimented her appearance. She eventually flew to Sydney at her own expense to meet them at a Randwick race meet on April 5, before going out for dinner and drinks.
Ms Electric described Latham's car as 'beaten-up' and noted that he seemed 'quite excited' to interact with her. She insisted that no sexual activity occurred and that a threesome was never explicitly discussed. However, leaked WhatsApp messages between Latham and Ms Matthews, made public this week, included references to Ms Electric, with Latham describing her as a 'good rooter' and joking about a 'freak off'—a term associated with rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
Ms Matthews is seeking an apprehended violence order against Latham, alleging psychological, financial, and emotional abuse over nearly three years. Latham has categorically denied abusing women, stating that all interactions with Ms Matthews were consensual. He told 2SM radio that his private sex life was 'fantastic' and dismissed the AVO application as lacking substance, noting that police had declined to pursue the allegations.
