Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly has urged President Donald Trump not to pardon Sean 'Diddy' Combs, warning that such a move would alienate young female voters already sceptical of the Republican Party. Kelly, a former Fox News host, issued the warning after reports emerged that the White House was considering a pardon for the music mogul, who was recently convicted on charges of transportation for prostitution.
In a post on X, Kelly wrote: 'Trump should not pardon Diddy. He doesn’t deserve it. He’s a Trump hater. He’s a woman abuser. MAGA is already upset over elites seeming to cover for each other. This would not help. GOP struggling w/young female voters, most of whom will HATE a Diddy pardon.' On her podcast, she elaborated, describing Combs as a 'serial woman abuser' and warning that a pardon would be seen as a 'miscarriage of justice'.
Combs was found guilty earlier this month on two counts of transportation for prostitution, though he was acquitted on more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. The trial revealed evidence of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse against multiple women, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Kelly referenced a widely circulated video of Combs assaulting Ventura, arguing that he does not deserve presidential mercy.
Trump has not formally agreed to a pardon but said in May he would 'look at the facts' if a case were presented. Reports this week suggested a pardon was being 'seriously considered', though the White House declined to comment. Kelly also drew parallels to the Epstein case, noting that Trump’s failure to release Epstein files has already angered his base, and a Diddy pardon could exacerbate that discontent.
