MLB Reporter Hit by Foul Ball at Orioles Game

MLB reporter Tricia Whitaker has revealed she was brutally struck in the wrist by a foul ball during a game on Friday. Whitaker was working for Apple TV+ at the Baltimore Orioles' 7-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers at Camden Yards. However, while seated in her designated position, she was hit by a wayward foul ball off the bat of Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman.

Whitaker Shares Ordeal on Social Media

Whitaker posted her terrifying and painful experience on Instagram, showing Orioles staff wrapping an ice pack around her bruised arm. She later shared a video of her left hand and wrist encased in a plastic bag full of ice, writing: 'Good news: @adleyrutschman has elite exit velo. Bad News: my wrist absorbed it.'

Whitaker, who has worked as a sideline reporter for Apple TV+ since 2022, reassured fans the next morning that she was okay and thanked the medical staff for their assistance.

Recovery and Return

'In case anyone was wondering - Adley Rutschman's exit velo is still elite. My forearm is proof,' she posted on X. 'Found out what it feels like to be the injury update instead of reporting it, 10-day IL, forearm discomfort.' She added: 'PS I'm fine, thanks to the Orioles' medical staff for the wrapping of my arm and ice all game!'

Whitaker demonstrated her full recovery by attending the Indy 500 on Sunday.
