Mo Salah in Tears as Liverpool Career Ends with Anfield Farewell

Mohamed Salah was left in floods of tears as his legendary Liverpool career came to an emotional end on the final day of the Premier League season. The Egyptian forward made his last appearance for the Reds in a 1-1 draw against Brentford at Anfield, securing a Champions League spot for Arne Slot's side.

Emotional Farewell at Anfield

Salah was substituted midway through the second half and initially kept his composure as he walked off the pitch. However, after the game, as he took a final lap around Anfield, he was visibly overcome with emotion, tears streaming down his face. He later received a gift from club chiefs Billy Hogan, Richard Hughes, and legends Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush.

The 33-year-old has not yet confirmed his next move, but he delivered a heartfelt speech to his teammates the day before the match. "Being Liverpool, to win something for Liverpool and win games, it's the best thing that could happen to you," he said. "I think it's the best club in the world when you win something – and the worst club in the world when you lose. So you better win next year!"

A Glittering Career at Liverpool

Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 after impressive spells with Fiorentina and Roma, having previously been deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea. He quickly silenced his doubters, winning the PFA Player of the Year award three times and breaking the Premier League single-season scoring record – a mark later surpassed by Erling Haaland.

He was instrumental in ending Liverpool's long wait for a top-flight title, playing a key role in the 2020 triumph and again last season. His first major honour was the Champions League in 2019, where he scored the opening goal in the final.

Salah leaves Anfield as the club's third-highest scorer of all time, behind only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt, and ahead of icons like Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, and Kenny Dalglish. His departure comes a year early, as he had signed a two-year deal last season but the decision was made to part ways after a disappointing campaign.
