Good Morning Britain viewers were quick to express their delight as Tom Swarbrick stepped in to co-host the Bank Holiday episode alongside Ranvir Singh on Monday, 25 May.
New Presenting Duo
The show featured a fresh pairing, with Ranvir Singh, 48, a familiar face on GMB since 2014, and Tom Swarbrick, 39, who was making his debut as a host after first appearing as a news reviewer earlier this year. Tom is best known for his regular contributions to This Morning and Lorraine.
Welcoming Tom, Ranvir said: "Now, those of you who don't know who Tom Swarbrick is, but I think you all probably know on ITV because you've seen Tom on a lot of This Morning." Tom responded: "A lot of This Morning but the first time sitting here so it's an absolute thrill!"
Warm Welcome and Heatwave Humour
Ranvir joked about the UK heatwave, saying: "Well, we normally like to give everyone a warm welcome. We've given you a record-breaking hot welcome today." She encouraged Tom to remove his jacket or tie, adding: "If you want to take your jacket off, if you want to take your tie off, just go for it, if you want to chill out. You're more than welcome!"
Tom admitted to a sleepless night due to the heat but expressed his gratitude: "It's been, you know, a sleepless, sweaty night but it's a great thrill and privilege to be here so thank you very much for having me."
