Figures including Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and the UK ambassador to the US, Peter Mandelson, have been named in a 238-page scrapbook given to Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday. The book, released by the House Oversight Committee, contains flattering and often sexualised letters from Epstein's associates.
The most notable entry is a birthday note from Donald Trump, accompanied by a sketch of a naked woman's torso. The note quotes Trump saying, 'We have certain things in common, Jeffrey,' and wishing 'every day be another wonderful secret.' Trump has denied drawing the figure or writing the note and filed a $10bn defamation suit over previous reports of the letter.
Bill Clinton is listed in the 'friends' section, with a note praising Epstein's 'childlike curiosity' and 'drive to make a difference.' Clinton's office has not commented; the former president has previously said he cut ties with Epstein over a decade before his arrest.
Peter Mandelson, the current UK ambassador to Washington, is credited with a handwritten note calling Epstein 'my best pal' and describing him as an 'intelligent, sharp-witted man.' Mandelson has expressed regret over meeting Epstein.
The book also includes photos of Epstein with women in bikinis and scenes of wild animals mating. An unnamed assistant describes how Epstein transformed her life, introducing her to Prince Andrew, Clinton, Trump, Naomi Campbell, and Michael Jackson, and granting access to Buckingham Palace's private quarters.
