A woman has been arrested in connection with a murder investigation after a man was discovered with serious injuries in Middlesbrough, police have confirmed.
Cleveland Police officers were called to Ayton Crescent in Eston, Middlesbrough, at approximately 11pm on Saturday following a report from a member of the public. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from significant injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a swift response that included assistance from the National Police Air Service, a 39-year-old woman was taken into custody and remains there for questioning. Authorities have stated that inquiries are ongoing to locate a second individual believed to be connected to the incident.
Superintendent Daryll Tomlinson provided reassurance to the community on Sunday, stating: “I would like to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident, with no wider risk to the public. Officers will remain at the scene in Ayton Crescent, and there will be an increased presence in the area. Police cordons remain in place as forensic examinations and further inquiries are conducted. The investigation is still in its early stages, and authorities are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
