A woman has been taken into custody by Gardai as part of the investigation into the disappearance and murder of six-year-old Kyran Durnin. The young boy was reported missing in August 2024, but authorities believe he may have lost his life as early as two years prior.

Kyran Durnin was reported missing in August 2024, but Gardai have indicated that he had not been seen since May 2022, when he was a pupil at a primary school in Dundalk. A murder investigation was formally launched in October 2024.
Arrest Details
On Monday, An Garda Siochana confirmed that a woman in her 50s was arrested under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. She is currently being held at a Garda station in the eastern region. In addition to the arrest, a search is being conducted at a home in Drogheda, County Louth.
This woman is the third individual to be arrested in connection with the case. Earlier in the investigation, a man and a woman were detained but later released without charge. In December 2024, the man, who was in his 30s, was found deceased.
Ongoing Investigation
Gardai have previously searched three other properties in connection with the case. Authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing, and further details may emerge as the probe continues.
