The sixth series of the hit reality TV show Clarkson's Farm will air in summer 2027, according to planning documents submitted to West Oxfordshire District Council. The show, which follows former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson and his team as they run Diddly Squat Farm near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, has been a ratings success since its debut in 2021.
The fifth series is set to launch on Prime Video in June this year. In February, Clarkson revealed in his Sunday Times column that filming of the sixth series had been suspended due to poor weather. However, the planning application for an extension of car parking at the farm shop confirms that series six has been commissioned and will air next summer.
The planning documents, submitted by a consultant on behalf of Clarkson, request an extension until 2030 for the operation of the farm shop and use of adjacent land for car parking. The application states: 'Season five will air this year and season six has been commissioned and will air in summer 2027. Three further years to monitor and review thereafter seems appropriate.'
Clarkson bought the farm, originally called Curdle Hill Farm, nearly 20 years ago. He renamed it Diddly Squat Farm after deciding to run it himself in 2019, due to its lack of productivity. The show highlights the challenges British farmers face and the costs of running a farm.
The TV star has been involved in a long-running planning dispute with the council. In 2023, a planning inspector granted permission for the use of land adjacent to the shop for car parking for three years. The new application seeks to extend this until 2030, citing the continued popularity of the show and the farm shop. The council will determine the application at a later date.
Clarkson, 66, has become a vocal supporter of farmers. In November 2024, he attended a protest in London against the government's proposed inheritance tax on farmland. He also opened the Farmers' Dog pub in Asthall, near Burford, which sells produce from British farmers.
