Sergej Jakirovic described guiding Hull City to the Championship play-off final as the pinnacle of his managerial career after a 2-0 victory over Millwall at The Den.
Substitutes Seal Win
Mohamed Belloumi and Joe Gelhardt came off the bench to end Millwall's Premier League aspirations. Belloumi opened the scoring in the 64th minute with a superb curling effort, before Gelhardt added a second two minutes after his introduction.
The win secured Hull's place in the final at Wembley on Saturday week, where they will face either Middlesbrough or Southampton.
Jakirovic's Pride
Jakirovic, who previously led Dinamo Zagreb to a domestic double and Champions League football, said: "It's a great achievement. Millwall are very difficult and demanding – we knew they would be a threat. But we are going to Wembley. I had great success as a coach, and this might be number one for me, the best thing that has happened in football in my life."
Captain's Belief
Hull captain Lewie Coyle believes the team may be destined for promotion. "Incredible," he told Sky Sports. "It's something we all believed we could do when we finalised the play-off spot on the last day in such dramatic fashion. And then we said, 'why shouldn't it be us?'"
Millwall's Disappointment
Millwall boss Alex Neil was devastated by the defeat. "We didn't do enough," he said. "Honestly until the first goal I didn't think either team had done enough. You have to give Hull credit for defending well but as an attacking force we didn't have enough across the 90 minutes."
Hull will now aim to emulate their 2008 and 2016 promotion-winning sides, with the goal of returning to the Premier League after a nine-year absence.
