A desperate rescue mission is underway in South Australia after two cave divers found themselves in life-threatening danger during a Sunday morning expedition. The incident unfolded at approximately 10.30am on Sunday at Tank Cave, a popular diving spot situated on the Princes Highway just south of Tantanoola. A spokesperson for SA Ambulance confirmed the grave situation: one diver has become trapped by rocks, while a second member of the diving party is currently unaccounted for. The exact circumstances that led to the divers becoming separated and one becoming entrapped remain unclear as emergency crews work against the clock.

Tank Cave is a well-known nature preserve and a favourite among the cave diving community. It is located a mere 3.9km from the Tantanoola Caves Conservation Park, an area renowned for having one of the best cave systems in the state.
