Amine Adli scored a dramatic last-minute winner as Bournemouth defeated Liverpool 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League encounter at the Vitality Stadium. The goal came in the fifth minute of stoppage time, with Adli lashing home from an acute angle after a long throw from James Hill caused chaos in the Liverpool box. The win was only Bournemouth's second since October, leaving Liverpool winless in five league matches.
Liverpool had fought back from two goals down, with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring a stunning free-kick in the 75th minute to level the scores. Earlier, Virgil van Dijk had halved the deficit with a header just before half-time. However, Bournemouth's resilience paid off as Adli struck with virtually the last kick of the game, condemning Arne Slot's side to their first defeat since November.
Bournemouth took the lead in the 26th minute when Evanilson fired home after Alex Scott's assist, following a defensive error by Van Dijk. The hosts doubled their advantage through Álex Jiménez, who drilled the ball through Alisson's legs after being set up by Hill. Liverpool's injury woes deepened as Joe Gomez hobbled off after colliding with Alisson, leaving the visitors with ten men temporarily.
Despite the equaliser, Liverpool failed to capitalise, with Mohamed Salah anonymous throughout. The result could see Slot's side drop to eighth in the table if other results go against them. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola praised his team's spirit, saying, 'It is probably the best goal to score... 10 seconds before I asked the fourth official how long was left.'
