Arsenal have agreed a permanent transfer for defender Maldini Kacurri to League Two side Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old Albania international is now finalising personal terms with the Mariners, who are pushing for promotion.
Kacurri spent the first half of the season on loan at National League side Morecambe, where he impressed despite the club's financial struggles. He won two consecutive Player of the Month awards and made 18 appearances, scoring once. His loan expired on January 2.
Grimsby have been in fine form, winning their last six matches in all competitions without conceding a league goal since December 20. They also remain in the FA Cup, where they will host Premier League side Wolves in the fourth round.
Kacurri joined Arsenal from Fulham in 2022 and made his senior debut last season in a Carabao Cup win over Bolton Wanderers. He also earned his first Albania cap in September under former Arsenal left-back Sylvinho.
Arsenal are not planning any further squad changes before the transfer deadline on February 2, with a thorough review scheduled for the end of the season.
