Pio Esposito's agent has confirmed Arsenal's interest in the Inter Milan striker, but insists the 20-year-old has no intention of leaving the San Siro. Esposito, who has been at Inter since the age of nine, is enjoying a breakout season with eight goals and five assists in 39 appearances.
Arsenal are considering a summer refresh of their forward line amid uncertain futures for Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus. However, Esposito's agent Mario Giuffredi made it clear the player is not for sale. 'Despite Arsenal's interest, our plans are clear,' Giuffredi told Radio CRC. 'He's happy at Inter and will be the future of the Nerazzurri for the next 10 years. The boy is in love with Inter.'
Inter president Beppe Marotta also ruled out a sale earlier this month, stating: 'Inter do not want to sell him and we are not a club that makes player trading its main business. He's a product that grew up in the youth academy, and we're guarding him like a treasure.' Esposito signed a new contract until 2030 after returning from a loan spell at Spezia.
Manager Cristian Chivu, who previously coached Esposito in Inter's youth academy, praised the striker's attitude. 'He wants to put himself on the line and take responsibility like everyone else,' Chivu said. 'I'm happy for him, just as I am for the rest of the team.'
