Aaron Ramsey has revealed that David Beckham sent him a signed shirt following his horrific leg break in 2010. The Welsh midfielder suffered a double fracture in his right leg during a match against Stoke City, sidelining him for nine months.
Speaking about the gesture, Ramsey said: 'I've got a couple of shirts that really mean a lot to me. The one that stands out though is a David Beckham shirt personalised when I broke my leg. He wrote a lovely message on the back of his shirt, it was a Milan shirt. That's definitely one that meant a lot, especially going through what I was going through at the time.'
Ramsey made a full recovery and went on to make 369 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 64 goals and winning three FA Cups and two Community Shields. He later had spells at Juventus, Rangers, Nice, Cardiff City and Pumas UNAM, but is currently without a club after his contract in Mexico was terminated.
The 33-year-old has admitted he is open to moving into coaching, having completed his badges and taken charge of Cardiff City's Under-18s and first team for three games. 'It's something I really enjoy,' he told talkSPORT. 'I definitely see myself going into that space.'
