Leicester City are facing Football Association action after a bottle thrown from their supporters' section struck a six-year-old Everton fan in the face during Saturday's Premier League match at Goodison Park.
The incident occurred at the end of Leicester's 4-0 defeat. Merseyside Police and Leicestershire Police have launched an appeal for information and are working with both clubs to identify the culprit. The bottle is believed to have been thrown from the Lower Bullens end of the away section.
The young girl was uninjured but left distressed by the incident. Police have urged anyone with information to contact them on 101 or via @MerPolCC on X, quoting reference 25000087039. Witnesses can also email david.stevens@leics.police.uk or contact @LeicsEvents.
Leicester, who have lost eight of their past nine Premier League games, sit third-bottom in the table, two points below Wolves.
