Friday Horse Racing Tips: Best Bets for Haydock, Goodwood, Worcester

Friday's horse racing tips feature a busy day of racing, including day one of the May Festival at Goodwood and a competitive card at Haydock. Racing correspondent Jonathan Doidge shares his best bets and odds for the day.

Rosy Affair (Haydock, 14.55) - 2pt win @ 7/4 (BOYLE Sports)

Despite being drawn in stall 15, where the last eight winners have come from single-figure stalls, Rosy Affair is a strong contender. Her latest effort, finishing a head second to Flora Of Bermuda at Newmarket (6f, good to firm), shows she is still improving. Sky Majesty, with a tongue-tie fitted, poses a threat, but Rosy Affair remains the favourite.

St Mawes (Goodwood, 15.07) – 1pt win @ 3/1 (bet365)

St Mawes receives 12lb from Give It To Me Oj, who seeks a hat-trick after wins at Epsom and Cheltenham. However, St Mawes arrives in good form, with a career-best third over course and distance earlier this month. He looks well-treated after a 1lb rise.

Orionis (Goodwood, 15.42) – 2pts win @ 5/1 (bet365)

William Haggas's Orionis has shown steady improvement, winning three of her last seven starts at 1m3f-1m4f. After a winter break and with the stable in good form, she is worth backing.

Melton Mossy (Worcester, 17.32) – 1pt win @ 5/1 (bet365)

Melton Mossy won a three-runner event at Wincanton (1m7f, good) in March, his second chase start. He goes well when fresh and is unexposed over fences. Karnaval Point is a market mover to note.

Premier Tenor (Worcester, 18.41) – 1pt win @ 6/4 (bet365)

Premier Tenor, trained by Dan Skelton, makes his British debut with a hood and tongue-tie. He won a conditions event on the Flat (1m5½f, good to soft) last October and has a strong pedigree.
