Goalkeeper's Gaffe Costs Jordan in Asian Cup Thriller

Jordan were denied a historic first victory over South Korea after a 91st-minute own goal from Yazan Al-Arab saw their Asian Cup Group E match end in a 2-2 draw at Al Thumama Stadium in Doha.

South Korea took an early lead through a Son Heung-min penalty in the fourth minute, awarded after Ihsan Haddad fouled the Tottenham forward. Despite a five-minute VAR delay, Son coolly chipped the ball down the middle. Jordan fought back, equalising in the 37th minute when Park Yong-Woo headed into his own net, and took the lead just before half-time through Yazan Al-Naimat's volley.

Jordan appeared set for a famous win until deep into stoppage time, when Hwang In-beom's shot was deflected into the net by Al-Arab. The draw leaves both teams on four points, on course for the knockout stages. South Korea coach Jürgen Klinsmann called it a 'fair result', noting his side lost battles after going 1-0 up. Jordan coach Hussein Ammouta said the result was positive, highlighting his team's confidence.
