John Terry's Chaotic Ski Slope Fall After Heavy Day of Drinking in France
Chelsea legend John Terry, 45, suffered a chaotic tumble down the ski slopes in the luxury French Alps resort of Courchevel following a heavy day of drinking. The former Blues defender, who works part-time as a coach and mentor within Chelsea's academy, was enjoying time away from his football duties when the incident occurred.
Terry's Alcohol-Fueled Skiing Adventure
Terry documented much of his Monday activities on his Instagram story, beginning with a bizarre video of him skiing down a slope while holding an England flag in his left hand. He then indulged in the traditional Apres-ski activities, sharing a snap of himself drinking an alcoholic beverage while smiling in the sun, still clutching the flag.
The third story attracted the most attention, featuring a clip titled: 'Not the best idea to drink all day then smash three tequilas before skiing down. Watch til the end.' In the video, Terry appeared quite drunk based on the accompanying text and could be seen navigating another slope while continuing to hold the England flag.
The Dramatic Tumble
To his credit, Terry was initially handling the mountain terrain well, even demonstrating his skills by skiing backwards at one point. However, disaster struck right at the end of the clip when he went tumbling down the slope. Despite the fall, Terry didn't seem too unhappy about the situation, as he was left in hysterics while lying on the floor with the flag nearby.
The video showed the former England international moving across the slope with the flag before his balance gave way, resulting in the comical tumble that he shared with his followers.
Terry's Recent Football Commentary
Meanwhile, Terry has increasingly been in the news recently for his various opinions on football matters. This included him comparing Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman to Lionel Messi after the 16-year-old became the Premier League's youngest ever goalscorer when he netted against Everton at the weekend.
'Max Dowman what a player by the way,' Terry began on his TikTok page. '16 years of age, almost 17, absolutely incredible. I watched him play against Chelsea about a year ago, and I've not seen anybody glide past people like this man does other than Messi.'
He continued: 'That's a big, big comparison but this guy is a proper talent and will play a big part in Arsenal's future and also England as well. But a super, super talent - and a big win for Arsenal.'
Frustration Over Chelsea Coaching Decision
Last month, Terry expressed his frustration that he had been overlooked by Chelsea to be their caretaker boss following the sacking of Enzo Maresca in January. The former defender, who works with Chelsea's Under 18 and Under 21 squads, saw full-time Under 21s coach Calum McFarlane chosen instead before Liam Rosenior took permanent charge.
'Not annoyed, probably more frustrated,' Terry said about the decision. 'Because I was certainly part of that Under 21s group that went over. So even if I didn't take the team… Calum took the team, did really well, got a result out of the game. I feel like I should have been part of that.'
He added: 'Now listen, people have got to make decisions. I love it when people make decisions and they go "yes" or "no". Clearly the ownership, or whoever made those decisions - the sporting directors - have gone "no" not to include me, for whatever reason. I don't know why.'
The skiing incident comes as Terry continues to balance his coaching responsibilities at Chelsea with his public persona, which now includes sharing his alcohol-fueled adventures on social media alongside his football analysis.
