Arne Slot has indicated he expects to remain at Liverpool beyond this season, despite mounting pressure after a run of poor results. The 47-year-old manager has lost four of his last six games, with only one win, leading to calls from fans for his dismissal.
Slot confirmed that Liverpool's summer transfer strategy will continue to focus on signing young players with high resale value, a policy enforced by owners Fenway Sports Group. He stated: 'Our model is completely clear. That is not to say we cannot make an exception... but I don't think we are going to change our model completely after a season that has not been so great.'
The club faces a significant squad overhaul, with Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah announcing they will leave in June. Their departures will leave only four players over 28 in the squad: Wataru Endo, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, and Joe Gomez.
Liverpool are currently sixth in the Premier League, six points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa. They also trail Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 after the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, needing a strong performance at Anfield to progress.
