The NFL is bringing the 2030 Super Bowl to Nashville and the Tennessee Titans' new enclosed Nissan Stadium, following a vote by team owners on Tuesday. This marks the first time the Music City will host the league's championship game.
Long-Awaited Decision
Once the Titans broke ground on the $2.1 billion enclosed stadium, a Super Bowl in Nashville seemed inevitable. Commissioner Roger Goodell noted in November that Nashville only needed the stage, having set a new standard for the NFL draft with record attendance in 2019.
Stadium Construction on Track
The Titans are on schedule to complete the new stadium, located directly across from the current Nissan Stadium, by February 2027 after three years of construction. Critics initially worried about the planned capacity being insufficient for a Super Bowl, but league officials were kept informed throughout the process.
Awarding the 2030 Super Bowl to Nashville gives the Titans three full seasons to address any operational issues.
Future Super Bowl Lineup
Tuesday's announcement adds to the NFL's Super Bowl schedule: SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, will host in 2027, followed by Atlanta in 2028 and Las Vegas in 2029.
The NFL also announced that Minnesota will host the 2028 draft, a decade after hosting Super Bowl LII in 2018. Pittsburgh drew a record 805,000 fans over three days for the 2026 draft. Washington will host the 2027 draft.
