Graham Reeves, a six-year-old from Longview, Texas, recently became an internet sensation after his mother, Rachel Reeves, captured his visible boredom during a nearly hour-long kindergarten graduation ceremony. The video, which has been widely shared, shows the young boy struggling to stay engaged as the ceremony dragged on.
A Ceremony Too Long for a Six-Year-Old
About 37 minutes into the festivities, Graham, wearing dress shoes three sizes too big, was clearly over it. He sat cross-legged with a blank expression on his face as the ceremony continued in the gymnasium. A minute later, he began fidgeting with his hands and arching his back over the seat, displaying a look of agony. The girl next to him ignored his antics as the ceremony dragged on.
Keeping Himself Entertained
By the 40-minute mark, Graham was swinging his blue tassel around his graduation cap to keep himself entertained. Moments later, he was seen biting his nails and picking his nose. As the ceremony approached the 50-minute mark, his forehead was practically touching the floor, indicating he had given up entirely.
All Ends Well
Despite his ordeal, the incoming first-grader was all smiles after the ceremony finally ended. He held his teddy bear and cheesed at the camera for his mother. Rachel Reeves expressed her love and gratitude, saying, 'Gosh, I love this freckled kid so much, and grateful to capture these adorable moments to keep forever!!!'
This is not the first time Graham's antics have amused his parents. In March, during a play put on by his class, he was caught doing his own thing in the background. His mother wrote on Facebook, 'All you’d ever want from a kindergarten play, a wiggly little boy doing his own play in the background.'
