Liam Farrell, the men's captain, is a veteran of five Challenge Cup finals, having won four. He will lead his team against treble winners Hull KR. Meanwhile, Jenna Foubister, a 19-year-old student who works part-time in a cafe, will represent the women's team in their final against St Helens. Despite their age difference, both players share a deep connection to Wigan, having come through the club's renowned youth system and earned England honours.

Farrell, who has spent his entire career at Wigan, reflects on the club's winning tradition: "There's a rich history of getting to finals and winning them. There's an expectation from fans to win, and a strong mentality among Wigan lads who want to reproduce that success." The club's academy graduates account for 20% of all Super League players, a testament to its grassroots strength.
Foubister, who made her England debut last year, credits coach Denis Betts for her development: "He's set standards and taught me things I'd never have thought about. He's brought my game and confidence on a whole lot." The women's team now have their own training ground at Edge Hall Road, a privilege that has boosted their performance.

The day begins with the schoolboys final between St Peter's and Deanery, both from Wigan. Foubister is excited: "When the men won their semi-final, we knew there would be a big Wigan fanbase at Wembley. It's going to be a great day and, if we win, a big party." Farrell adds: "It's an exciting time. Fans are booking trips, my wife is getting the family together to make a weekend of it. It's all about the result, but you've also got to have a good time."
As Farrell's career winds down, Foubister looks to inspire the next generation: "Little girls are looking up to us for inspiration. It makes my day." Wigan's presence across all three finals underscores the club's deep roots in the community and its commitment to rugby league.
