Carl Froch Claims John Fury Has 'Gone Into Hiding' After Fight Call-Out
Froch Says Fury Has 'Gone Into Hiding' After Call-Out

Carl Froch has claimed that John Fury has gone into hiding after challenging him to a boxing fight last month. The former world champion stated that Fury, father of Tyson Fury, has failed to follow through on his call-out following his son Tommy's victory over Eddie Hall.

Froch Calls Out Fury's Disappearance

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Froch said: "He's gone quiet again. He doesn't stop going on and on and on, he doesn't shut up. Then it gets put on to him, DAZN have been on to him, Misfits have been on to him, Kalle Sauerland, the promoter, has been on to him. He's gone into hiding, he's vanished. Does anyone know where John Fury is? I'll need to check in the cupboard."

Froch added: "So just know when you listen to him next time, or you watch him punching a wall, this is confirmation Big John Fury is not a fighting man. He's absolutely full of gobs****. Don't forget, I'm not the one who wants this fight, I accepted the challenge. He's called it on with me and I've said lets do it and he's said he's got somewhere else to be. It's pathetic and that's the end of Big John Fury, and he's not a fighting man."

Fury's Initial Call-Out

After Tommy Fury outpointed Eddie Hall in Manchester on June 13, 2026, John Fury called out Froch, saying: "He's an embarrassment to Nottingham. Carl, the worm, Froch. You know them championship belts he won, don't you? He wants to give them to somebody with a pair of nuts, because let me tell you, he's no street fighter. I'm a street fighter. It took 20 men to hold me there tonight. There's no 12 stone man, or 13 stone man, going to do any good with me."

Froch's Acceptance and Frustration

Froch initially responded by accepting the challenge. "I'm ready. I'm ready to fight. I've got I ain't got a problem with putting a bully in his place," he said. "But it got serious because he asked Kalle [Sauerland] and Kalle said, 'Listen, I can do the fight. No problem.' He hasn't priced himself out; not yet anyway, and it looks like he's being serious. So, there's a chance that this fight might actually get made if John doesn't vanish like he did last time."

Froch then issued a direct ultimatum: "So, John, listen up and listen closely because I want you to get this into your thick f***ing skull. This has been going on for too long now. I saw you punching a perspex picture on the wall the other day. Walls don't hit back. You're a f***ing bully. You started on Carl Frampton, started on Steve Bunce and you headbutted the smallest man in the room at the Usyk press conference. Listen, I'm ready to fight. You've called it on. I'm answering. I'm ready for you. Sign the f***ing contract or shut the f*** up."
