Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Dominic Solanke is available for Tottenham's crucial Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday. The striker has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury sustained in the victory over Wolves last month.
Solanke, 28, has endured an injury-hit season, making his first appearance in January after a prolonged ankle problem. He was also left out of Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad. De Zerbi had previously indicated Solanke might feature against Everton after being ruled out of the Chelsea defeat.
“Solanke is available, we have to decide if he starts in the first XI,” De Zerbi said. “James Maddison is available too. It's always tough to decide before the game how many minutes he can play.”
Defender Djed Spence is also available after suffering a broken jaw against Chelsea. He will wear a face mask for protection. De Zerbi commented: “He is available. It was another bad situation for us because I think it was a red card for Liam Delap. I love Djed, all of us are happy he can go and play the World Cup.”
Tottenham sit two points above the relegation zone ahead of the final day. A win guarantees survival, while a draw would likely be enough due to a superior goal difference over West Ham. Defeat to Everton combined with a West Ham win over Leeds would send Spurs down.
