The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing at Ibrox, with transfers top of the agenda as Rangers prepare for a significant summer overhaul. Off the back of a third-place finish and a trophyless season, a big squad overhaul was already on the cards. However, Danny Rohl's looming exit has just cranked things up a notch, with Derek McInnes set to take the reins.
Rohl's Departure and McInnes Arrival
Danny Rohl is poised to be unveiled as the new boss of Red Bull Salzburg, while Derek McInnes will leave Hearts to take the Rangers job. The two managers will likely have very different outlooks on potential incoming and outgoing stars, making it crucial for McInnes to run the rule over several targets.
Luke Graham
Dundee's Luke Graham is a player Ibrox chiefs want to lure to the club this summer. The defender has several options in England and across Europe, but will McInnes be keen? Speaking to Record Sport in April, Graham was coy on his future: "The manager [Steven Pressley] has put a lot of trust in me this season and I have tried to repay him for that. It's nice to get some recognition from the manager, but all I can really do is just focus on myself and keep doing as well as I can for the team."
Bryan Reynolds
Rangers are interested in Westerlo defender Bryan Reynolds, but have not tabled a bid. Right-back is a priority position for the club after captain James Tavernier departed at the end of the season, while Max Aarons returned to his parent club Bournemouth.
Mikey Moore
Danny Rohl admitted he would like to work out a deal for the wonderkid to remain in Glasgow next season, while the player stated he wanted to push for a first-team spot in North London during pre-season. So, what will Derek McInnes want to do? The arrival of Brazilian wide man Savinho from Manchester City would likely push Moore out of the Tottenham picture again.
Oskar Fallenius
The 24-year-old has been touted with a move to Ibrox this summer with only six months left on his contract at Djurgarden. But will Derek McInnes be keen on the player, who has already opened the door for a switch to Ibrox?
Pierce Charles
The 20-year-old is approaching the final 12 months of his contract with Sheffield Wednesday and is on a list of potential goalkeeping options for the Glasgow giants this summer. Liam Kelly has extended his deal, while Jack Butland is currently first-choice. McInnes may have his own thoughts on who should be between the sticks.
Dan Neil
Out of contract Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil was high up on Rohl's Ibrox wish list in the winter window, and is reportedly back in talks with Rangers this summer. But with Rohl heading to Salzburg, it remains to be seen if McInnes will be keen.
Nathan Patterson
Everton defender Nathan Patterson has also been touted with a return to Glasgow after struggling for game time in the Premier League last term. The right-back burst onto the scene at Ibrox in 2020 and made Steve Clarke's squad for the Euros before earning a stunning £11 million move to the Premier League side. He is now at the World Cup; will McInnes be keen on firming up any potential interest, with Everton open to a summer sale?
Cammy Devlin
The Hearts star is out of contract later this month, so could Cammy Devlin follow Lawrence Shankland and his boss to Ibrox? He is attracting interest from the MLS while he has an offer on the table from the Jambos, so McInnes would have to move quickly to hijack a deal for the Australia international. Former Rangers man Billy Dodds pitched a move to Ibrox earlier this season: "Yes, I think I would be looking at him [if I was at Rangers] and identifying how he's stepped up his level to a notch because you can play in a Hearts team, which he has done, which has been inconsistent, top six last year, and you can lose your way at times."
Youssef Chermiti
The Portuguese striker had an up-and-down debut season at Ibrox last term, initially struggling to deliver on the eyebrow-raising £8m they paid for him to join from Everton. However, he improved as the season went on, netting a hat-trick against Hearts in February as well as an impressive brace against Celtic, eventually ending the campaign with 15 goals to his name. Galatasaray, PSV Eindhoven and Porto are said to be keen on the 22-year-old, but could McInnes push to keep the frontman to partner Lawrence Shankland?
Emmanuel Fernandez
Emmanuel Fernandez was backed by Peterborough chief Barry Fry to make Rangers millions, and he could be proven right this summer with Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen among the clubs keen. But how vital will the centre-back be in the mind of Derek McInnes?
Nicolas Raskin
Currently at the World Cup with Belgium, Raskin is viewed by many as Rangers' prize asset. He has two years remaining on his deal and could command a big fee, with offers expected to arrive this summer.
Bojan Miovski
The 26-year-old fell behind Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi in the pecking order under Rohl, but he may get a second look under McInnes. Record Sport understands clubs from Spain and Central Europe are keen on the striker.
