Napoli's global business development officer, Leonardo Giammarioli, has openly expressed his apprehension about the club's ability to retain midfielder Scott McTominay in the long term. The Napoli executive acknowledged that the club might be powerless to reject a substantial offer, especially if McTominay expresses a desire to move. "Yeah, of course I'm worried," Giammarioli admitted. "But ultimately, especially Scott, who's a very nice guy, we're happy if he gets to the next level in a couple of years – maybe not now, maybe not next year, but he deserves it."
He drew a parallel with other clubs, stating, "Look at Stuttgart, they wanted to keep Nick Woltemade, but when such an offer comes in, there's not much you can do, when the player wants to go and money is important."

Sheringham recently asserted, "If he comes back to England, then there's no way Manchester United can miss out on him.
